This is one common and easy to fix data recovery case study for Dolphin users with DFL WD HDD firmware repair tools. HDD ID: WD20EZRZ-00Z5HB0; SN: WD-WCC4M0AYXCXY, Capacity: 2TB.
This case study was fixed by Dolphin remote support engineer for one Dolphin user from Argentina.
When the patient hdd was received, the data area was fully blocked and if user scanned the hdd, the hdd was full of bad sectors. The user connected the patient HDD to DFL-SRP WD firmware repair tool, the ROM and SA are read without problem but after testing the firmware modules, one issue was found: all firmware modules are good except firmware module 148.
Next the support engineer use the WD program to read the damaged firmware module 148 by ABA mode and wrote it back in ABA in both copy 0 and copy 1 and then test again the damaged firmware module was fixed. Power off and on and opened the DDP data recovery program, all data was accessible and the user recovered all lost data.
