DFL-WDII has ATA and USB channels for you to work with WD SATA/IDE drives and USB drives. We usually use the ATA mode so far when you connect WD SATA and IDE drives. If you want to repair WD USB drives, you need to select the USB mode.
For WD USB drives, users usually convert them to SATA ports and then connect them to the traditional hdd repair tools but with DFL-WDII, it is much easier now for you to repair wd USB drives.
