If the partitions couldn't be recognized, it can be the following reasons:

Partition corruption: users can scan the lost partitions and check;
WD SED: try auto decryption
Seagate SED: try permanent unlock
Firmware failure to fix

For DVR hdd, needs to use proper dvr software to recognize the partitions
