Has anyone succeeded in getting this device to work? All I can achieve is "Device connected with none component" when I press F7.
It seems that I am not able to correctly connect the eight pins to the eight legs.
I have correctly aligned the number one pins.
Does anyone have a good technique to share?

i've been working with the device for some time.
I know the message "Device connected with none component" very well, and that can drive you crazy.

The beginning was not immediately successful, but after a few tries, i usually have success
after trying 2 or 3 times, and that already saves time.

I use a magnifying glass and form a kind of ruler or hard edge with my hand.
Another method is to use a small piece of plastic (or whatever) as a boundary (like an edge)
that then serves as a "guide rail".

I press the read pins down until it rests on the flash rom itself, which stabilizes something.

Yesterday i had a rom from PCM (brand) on a WD USB-pcb and the pin reader could not identify the chip , and the
chip was not in the list. I was quicker with soldering  Rolleyes

I had the case that what I read did not match the content 100%.
I always read 2 or 3 times and save the rom (in file1, file2 ..) and then i compare data (bit level).
To get the pin reader working, firstly, you find the rom chip leg 1 with an indication of the dot on chip, and then fix pin reader pin 1, next find rom chip leg 8 and then fix pin reader pin 8, usually if these two pins are connected properly, the other pins and legs are touched properly too.
